About I Am Number Four
I Am Number Four is a 2011 American teen science fiction action film directed by D.J. Caruso and starring Alex Pettyfer, Dianna Agron, and Timothy Olyphant. The film is about John Smith (Pettyfer), a teenage boy from another planet, who hides on Earth from intergalactic bounty hunters. He possesses unique powers and is the fourth of nine aliens who escaped their home planet before it was destroyed. Chaos ensues as he discovers his true identity and battles against those who seek to destroy him.
Making / Production
Released under DreamWorks and produced by Michael Bay, D.J. Caruso led the direction. The screenplay was given life by Alfred Gough, Miles Millar, and Marti Noxon. Despite being science fiction, the movie was filmed mostly in Pennsylvania and Florida. A considerable amount of the movie's budget went into creating the intense CGI special effects.
Actors
- Alex Pettyfer as John Smith / Number Four: Pettyfer plays the protagonist, a fugitive on the run from merciless enemies. His performance brought out the fear, confusion, and determination quite convincingly while dealing with his predicament.
- Dianna Agron as Sarah Hart: Agron convincingly portrayed the sweetheart love interest of John, adding poignant romance to the sci-fi movie.
- Timothy Olyphant as Henri, John's guardian: Olyphant gave a compelling portrayal of a charismatic and resourceful character dedicated to keeping John safe.
