About The Imagineering Story

The Imagineering Story is a documentary series that explores the past, present, and future of the Disney Theme Parks. With its release in 2019, the show gives an intimate look into how the Disney Imagineers made magic come to life with the creation of iconic parks, rides, and experiences over the years. This six-part series invites viewers behind the scenes where ideas and imagination turned into reality.

Making / Production

The show is produced by Iwerks & Co. with Leslie Iwerks, the granddaughter of Ub Iwerks who is a Disney Legend known as Walt Disney’s early business partner. The series took over five years to complete, with the crew granted unprecedented access to Walt Disney Imagineering's archives and into the Imagineer’s workshops to capture the history and creation process of Disney theme parks around the world.
