The Intern is a 2015 American comedy-drama film directed, written, and produced by Nancy Meyers. The film tells the story of 70-year-old widower Ben Whittaker (Robert De Niro) who becomes an intern at an online fashion retailer and forms an unlikely friendship with its young CEO, Jules Ostin (Anne Hathaway).

Making / Production

The film was produced by Nancy Meyers and Suzanne Farwell. The story was conceived when Meyers noted an increasing trend of senior interns in the United States. Filming took place in Brooklyn, New York, and some office scenes were filmed in the actual office space of the online fashion retailer ASOS.
