Iron Man 2 is a sequel to the 2008 movie Iron Man and was released in 2010. It's a Superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Iron Man. The main protagonist of the movie is Tony Stark, a billionaire industrialist and genius inventor who is secretly the superhero Iron Man. In this film, Tony Stark faces pressure from the government, the press, and the public to share his technology while he battles his personal demons and enemies.

Making / Production

The movie was directed by Jon Favreau and written by Justin Theroux. It was produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Paramount Pictures. The film's production began immediately after the huge success of the first Iron Man film.

Actors

• Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark / Iron Man: Downey portrays a billionaire industrialist and genius inventor who has revelead his identity as Iron Man to the world. He delivered his role with the eccentric, quick wit characteristic of Tony Stark.
• Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts: Paltrow plays Stark's personal assistant and budding love interest, showing great chemistry with Downey.
• Don Cheadle as James "Rhodey" Rhodes / War Machine: Cheadle took over the role from Terrence Howard and delivers a convincing portrayal of Tony Stark's ally who eventually dons the War Machine suit.
• Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow: Johansson portrays an undercover spy for S.H.I.E.L.D, showing off her physical prowess and combat ability.

Trivia / Interesting Facts

• This is the first film in which the War Machine armor is seen.
• Jon Favreau, the director of the movie, makes a cameo as Happy Hogan.
• Robert Downey Jr. and Don Cheadle improvised much of their dialogue.

Awards

Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, Iron Man 2 also won other awards including the Teen Choice award for Choice Movie: Action and the Saturn Award for Best Music
