"Killing Eve" is a British dark comedy-drama spy thriller television series, which was first launched in 2018. The plot follows Eve Polastri, an intelligence investigator tasked with capturing psychopathic assassin Villanelle. As the case proceeds, the two develop a mutual obsession which proves both dangerous and exciting. The series' unique mix of drama, comedy, and thriller genres have gained it high acclaim and makes it unlike anything else on television.
Making / Production
The series is produced by Sid Gentle Films for BBC America. It is based on the 'Villanelle' novel series, written by Luke Jennings. The first season was written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Each subsequent season has featured a new female head writer – Emerald Fennell for the second season, Suzanne Heathcote for the third, and Laura Neal for the fourth.
