"A Knight for a Day" is an animated short film released by MGM in March 1946. It tells the story of a blacksmith's apprentice named Goofy, who ends up participating in a joust tournament in place of his master, Sir Loinsteak.

Plot Summary

When Sir Loinsteak, a well-built knight, is knocked unconscious in a match against Sir Cumference, his apprentice, Goofy has to impersonate him. Despite his initial clumsiness, Goofy manages to defeat Sir Cumference and eventually wins the tournament, earning the respect of the kingdom and the heart of the Princess.
