'L.A. Law' is an American television legal drama series that ran from 1986 to 1994 on NBC, created by Steven Bochco and Terry Louise Fisher. The series focused on the personal and professional lives of the partners and employees of the fictitious McKenzie, Brackman, Chaney and Kuzak Law firm located in Los Angeles. Given the nature of law, the show featured a broad spectrum of legal cases ranging from murder trials to divorces, touching on social issues of the time, while also mixing in the complicated relational dynamics between the firm's attorneys.

The series was co-created by Steven Bochco, known for creating other successful television series such as Hill Street Blues and NYPD Blue.
