About The Last Ship

The Last Ship is an American action-drama television series that premiered on TNT in 2014. This engrossing TV Series,which is based on William Brinkley's novel, presents an exciting post-apocalyptic tale. When a global pandemic wipes out eighty percent of the planet's population, the crew of a lone unaffected U.S. Navy destroyer, the USS Nathan James, must find a cure, stop the virus, and save humanity.

Making / Production

Produced by Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes, this series was created by Hank Steinberg and Steven Kane who served as showrunners. It was shot in multiple locations including San Diego and various locales in Los Angeles to authentically capture the realities of life on a naval ship and the gravity of the worldwide catastrophe they were facing.
