The Last Song is a 2010 American coming-of-age teen romantic drama film directed by Julie Anne Robinson. The screenplay was written by Nicholas Sparks and Jeff Van Wie, based on Sparks' 2009 novel of the same name. The movie follows rebellious teenager, Veronica 'Ronnie' Miller (Miley Cyrus) who is sent along with her younger brother to spend the summer with their estranged father (Greg Kinnear). Over the course of a summer of soul-searching and music, Ronnie finds love, family, and a new direction in life.

Making / Production

The production on the film began in June 2009 and filming took place in Tybee Island and Savannah, Georgia. The movie was primarily shot at Tybee Island's beaches and pier. The movie features an integral part of Nicholas Sparks's novel where music, particularly the piano, plays a key role in the storyline.
