The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is a 2003 action-adventure film directed by Stephen Norrington. The movie is loosely based on the first volume of the comic book series of the same name by Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill. The plot involves a band of legendary literary characters, who pool their extraordinary talents to combat a dire threat. Set in an alternative Victorian Age, this group contains famous figures such as Allan Quatermain, Captain Nemo, Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde, and Mina Harker, who are called upon to stop a villain intent on turning the nations of the world against one another.
