"Lord of Illusions," directed by Clive Barker, is a 1995 American horror film based on Barker's own short story, "The Last Illusion" from "Books of Blood Volume 6." Actually, this film is Barker's very own adaptation of his novel. The plot revolves around Harry D'Amour (Scott Bakula), a private detective drawn into the world of magic, danger, and supernatural evil when he is hired to protect illusionist Swann (Kevin J. O'Connor) from sorcerer Nix (Daniel von Bargen). The film intricately explores the complex world of magic and the continuous combat between illusion and reality which leads to thrilling and totally unexpected events forming the climax of the story.
