About Mad Max: Fury Road (HBO)

"Mad Max: Fury Road" is a 2015 dystopian action film co-written, directed, and produced by George Miller. Set in a post-apocalyptic desert wasteland, Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy), haunted by his turbulent past, wanders alone until he's captured by the War Boys, the army of the tyrannical Immortan Joe. Meanwhile, Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron) betrays Joe by fleeing with his five wives who were kept for breeding. When their paths cross, Max joins Furiosa and the brides in their epic battle for freedom and survival.

Making / Production

The film was in conceptual development since 1997 and saw several delays due to security and weather issues. Principal photography was completed in December 2012, and most of Miller's crew were Australians. The film was shot with a technique known as centre framing, to help the audience's eye track the action.
