About Maid-sama

Maid-sama is an anime television series that was released in 2010. Created in Japan, it tells the story of Misaki Ayuzawa. She is the student council president of Seika High School, a once all-boys school that has recently become co-ed. Tough and strict, Misaki tries to reform the boys in the school and improve its image. However, she has a secret: she works part-time at a maid cafe to support her family. When popular boy and heart-throb Usui Takumi discovers her secret, a unique love story unfolds.

Making / Production

The show is based on Hiro Fujiwara's manga series of the same name. It was produced by J.C.Staff alongside director Hiroaki Sakurai. Translation and localization for English-speaking audiences were handled by Sentai Filmworks. The show ran for just over a year, from April 2010 to September 2010.

Actors

• Ayumi Fujimura (Misaki Ayuzawa): She plays the strong-willed council president who will go to any length to protect the female students in her school. She portrayed the character's strength and resolve brilliantly.
• Nobuhiko Okamoto (Usui Takumi): As the male lead and Misaki's primary love interest, Okamoto's performance gave depth to a character who might have otherwise just been a stereotypical heartthrob.
• Aika Oota (Hiro Fujiwara): As Hiro, Oota brought a much-needed comic element to the series, providing an entertaining contrast to Misaki's intense personality.

• The series was made into a drama CD before being adapted into an anime series.
• Maid-sama has been adapted into several languages globally, including English, German, Italian, and Korean, among others.
• While the anime stopped at Episode 26, the manga continues the story further.
