About Major League

Major League, released in 1989, is an American sports comedy film written and directed by David S. Ward. The film is a humorous depiction of the struggles of a losing Cleveland Indians baseball team whose new owner purposely put together in hopes of a low season attendance, allowing her to move the team to Miami. The team then started to win just to spite her.

Making / Production

The movie was produced by Chris Chesser and Irby Smith. Filming took place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin because it was cheaper than filming in Ohio. The production team had to carefully choose the games they attended to ensure they didn't interfere with the actual baseball season.
