The film centers around the return of the enigmatic nanny, Mary Poppins, who comes back to help the next generation of the Banks family. After Michael Banks suffers a personal loss, Mary Poppins re-enters the lives of the Banks family and, along with the street lamplighter Jack, uses her unique abilities to help the family rediscover joy and wonder missing in their lives.

Directed by Rob Marshall and produced by Walt Disney Pictures, 'Mary Poppins Returns' is a sequel to the 1964 film 'Mary Poppins'. The screenplay was written by David Magee with a story by Magee, Marshall, and John Deluca. The film's songs were composed by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. Filming took place at Shepperton Studios in Surrey, England from February to July 2017.
