About Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials

The sequel to the original ‘Maze Runner’, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials is a 2015 American dystopian science fiction film directed by Wes Ball. With a screenplay by T.S. Nowlin, it's based on the 2010 novel The Scorch Trials written by James Dashner. It follows on story of a young man, Thomas, and his group of escaped Gladers as they fight to survive in a world devastated by a virus known as The Flare, all while confronting a powerful organization known as WCKD.

The film was produced by Gotham Group, Temple Hill Entertainment and TSG Entertainment, with Fox distributing. Principal photography commenced in Albuquerque, New Mexico on October 27, 2014, and officially concluded on January 27, 2015.
