About Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (HBO)

"Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials", a dystopian, science fiction film, directed by Wes Ball, was released in 2015 as the sequel to "The Maze Runner". The story picks up where the first movie left off, with Thomas and the other Gladers having escaped the maze only to find themselves in a desolate, post-apocalyptic world ravaged by a terrible disease known as "The Flare". The Gladers face numerous challenges in their pursuit to find clues about the mysterious group, the WCKD. Their journey takes them to the Scorch, a desolate landscape filled with unimaginable obstacles.

Making / Production

The movie was a production of Gotham Group and Temple Hill Entertainment, and was distributed by 20th Century Fox. Production of the movie involved challenging filming conditions to depict the scorching 'Scorch' effectively. Some of the filming occurred in the dunes of Albuquerque, New Mexico, to capture the post-apocalyptic setting desired for the movie.
