About The Mighty Boosh
"The Mighty Boosh" is a British television show created by Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt, aired from 18 May 2004 to 22 December 2007 on BBC Three. The series, a blend of comedy, musical, and surreal adventures, revolves around the peculiar voyages of Howard Moon (Barratt) and Vince Noir (Fielding). From working in a zoo to fronting a gothic band, each episode sees them embark on a journey through time and space, filled with bizarre characters and humorous escapades.
Making / Production
The trio Michael Fielding, Rich Fulcher, and Dave Brown who co-starred in the series were initially part of the live comedy shows conceived by Barratt and Fielding. Converted to a Radio 4 series before hitting television screens, the show spawned from the creators' passion for fantastical stories, unique comedic style and love for music.
Actors
- Julian Barratt as Howard Moon: A jazz enthusiast and intellectual. Barratt effectively portrayed Howard as artistically pretentious yet endearingly naive.
- Noel Fielding as Vince Noir: Light-hearted Vince loves fashion, and is carefree and unaware. Fielding’s portrayal of Vince was well received, offering a colourful comedic contrast to Barratt's character.
- Michael Fielding as Naboo: Michael played Naboo the Enigma, a shaman with a casual attitude, adding a layer of surreal mysticism to the show.
- Rich Fulcher as Bob Fossil: Fulcher portrayed Bob Fossil, a zoo manager with little understanding of wildlife, resulting in comically incompetent situations.
- Dave Brown as Bollo: Brown played Bollo, a talking gorilla, a character driven by simple desires yet offering profound insights at times.
