About Missing in Action

"Missing in Action" is an American action film set during the Vietnam War and released in 1984. The movie revolves around the story of Colonel James Braddock, a US military officer who had been a POW and who escapes from the Vietnamese. Years later, he leads a mission back into Vietnam to find and rescue American POWs still held captive. The movie was directed by Joseph Zito and produced by Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus.

Making / Production

The film was produced by Cannon Films, and it was well received by audiences at the time, even though it met with mostly negative reviews from critics. The movie was actually shot back-to-back with its sequel, "Missing in Action 2: The Beginning". Originally, the sequel was supposed to be released first, but the producers decided to release "Missing in Action" first after they saw that it was the stronger of the two movies.

Actors

  • Chuck Norris portrayed the role of Colonel James Braddock. The action star's sturdy performance gave life to the courageous and dedicated colonel, formulating an iconic character for the actor.
