About All the Money in the World

All the Money in the World is a crime thriller film directed by Ridley Scott. Set in 1973, the movie is inspired by the abduction of John Paul Getty III, a 16-year-old American living in Rome, and his billionaire grandfather's refusal to comply with the kidnappers' ransom demands. The gut-wrenching drama displays the desperate attempts of the mother, portrayed by Michelle Williams, to bring her son home safely.

Making / Production

The film was notable for its production complications. Kevin Spacey was originally cast as J. Paul Getty but was replaced by Christopher Plummer after allegations of sexual misconduct against Spacey surfaced. All of Spacey's scenes were reshoot with Plummer in nine days.
