About Muppet Treasure Island

Muppet Treasure Island is a 1996 musical adventure comedy film directed by Brian Henson. The movie is loosely based on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel, Treasure Island. It explores a charming narrative where the Muppet characters set out on a thrilling quest for buried treasure.

The film starts with young Jim Hawkins and his friends Gonzo and Rizzo embarking on a wild adventure when they discover a treasure map. Making / Production

The film, released by Walt Disney Pictures, was the first Muppets production to be made without the assistance of Jim Henson, who passed away six years before its release. His son, Brian Henson, took over directing duties. Despite the changes in production, the movie maintained the whimsical and intelligent humor characteristic of the Muppets.

Actors

• Kevin Bishop as Jim Hawkins, played the role of the innocent young boy who turns into a brave explorer. He brought a level of earnestness and charm to the character.
• Tim Curry portrayed Long John Silver, a complicated figure who's both villainous and strangely sympathetic. His portrayal was full of betrayal and camaraderie.
• Dave Goelz gave voice to The Great Gonzo, who, along with his friend Rizzo, provides most of the comic relief. He encapsulated the quirky and daring essence of Gonzo perfectly.
