About The Muppets (Series)

The Muppets (2015) was a television show based on characters created by Jim Henson. This American mockumentary-style comedy series was co-created by Bill Prady and Bob Kushell and aired on ABC from September 22, 2015, to March 1, 2016. It revolved around the personal and professional lives of The Muppets during production of a late-night talk show "Up Late with Miss Piggy".

Making / Production

The Muppets was developed by Bill Prady and Bob Kushell. However, following criticisms after its pilot episode, Kushell was removed from the position of showrunner. The underperformance of the first half of the season led to the replacement of the series' showrunner midway, with Kristin Newman replacing Bob Kushell. Under Newman's oversight, the show took a more adult-oriented approach. However, the series was canceled after one season due to low ratings.
