About My Hero Academia
My Hero Academia, also known as Boku No Hero Academia, is a superhero anime series based on the manga by Kōhei Horikoshi. The show premiered in Japan on April 3, 2016, and has been met with universal acclaim for its engaging character development, striking art and animation, and its fresh spin on the superhero genre. The story centers around Izuku Midoriya, a boy who dreams of becoming a hero but was born without any superpowers in a world where gaining 'quirks' or superpowers is commonplace.
Making/Production
The show is produced by the anime studio Bones, known for classics like Fullmetal Alchemist and Soul Eater. It is directed by Kenji Nagasaki and written by Yōsuke Kuroda, both of whom have worked on various other notable anime series. The character designs are provided by Yoshihiko Umakoshi.
