About
Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K) is a TV show that originated in the late 1980s as a comedy series following the host Joel Robinson and his robot companions Crow T. Robot and Tom Servo, as they are forced to watch and commentate on a series of B-movies by their evil captor, Dr. Clayton Forrester. The show gained a cult status due to its unique concept of riffing on bad movies and its clever writing.
In 2017, Netflix revived the series with a new cast. The show follows a similar format where the new host, Jonah Heston, along with Crow, Tom Servo, and Gypsy, is trapped on the Satellite of Love and forced to watch terrible movies. They provide comedic commentary throughout the movie, making fun of the plot, dialogue, and special effects.
Making / Production

The campaign aimed to raise funds to bring back the show with new episodes and a new cast. The campaign exceeded its initial goal and was able to produce 14 new episodes for its eleventh season.
The production of the show involves a mix of live-action segments and puppetry for the robot characters. The movie being watched by the cast is projected onto the screen of the Satellite of Love set. The cast members then watch and react to the movie in real-time, delivering their witty remarks and jokes.
