About The New Mutants
The New Mutants is a 2020 American horror film in the superhero genre, based on the Marvel Comics team of the same name and distributed by 20th Century Studios. The film was the last installment in the X-Men film series. The plot revolves around a group of young mutants held captive in a secret facility who must confront their troubled pasts to escape. Amidst the upheaval, they also discover their abilities and learn to fortify their friendship.
Making / Production
The film was directed by Josh Boone with a screenplay by himself and Knate Lee. The film's production journey was quite tumultuous, filled with multiple delays and reshoots due to a variety of reasons, including the merger of Disney and Fox. Despite the hold-ups, Boone succeeded in presenting a unique blend of adolescent angst, horror, and superhero elements.
