About Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan

Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan, originally known as Nurarihyon no Mago in Japanese, is a popular anime television series which debuted in 2010. The story revolves around Rikuo Nura, a young boy who is one-third yokai (demon). He lives in a house full of supernatural beings along with his grandfather, who hopes Rikuo will take over as the Third heir of their yokai clan. The series beautifully balances between the supernatural world of the yokai and the everyday life of a schoolboy.

Making / Production

The TV series is based on the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Hiroshi Shiibashi. The anime adaptation was produced by Studio Deen and directed by Junji Nishimura. It was first broadcasted on Yomiuri TV in Japan and later got international distribution.

Actors

  • Jun Fukuyama voices Rikuo Nura, the protagonist. Fukuyama brings a blend of innocence and intensity to the character, effectively portraying Rikuo's struggle to embrace his yokai heritage.
