About One Tree Hill
One Tree Hill is an American television drama series created by Mark Schwahn. The show first aired in 2003 and follows the lives of two half-brothers, Lucas Scott (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan Scott (James Lafferty), who grow up in the small, fictional town of Tree Hill, North Carolina. They share a last name and little else, but the boys' lives become entwined when they both start playing basketball for their high school team. The brothers' relationships with their parents, friends, and lovers form the backbone of the series.
Making / Production
The series was primarily filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina. The basketball scenes were shot at the local college, while the River Court was located on the banks of the Cape Fear River. Mark Schwahn served as showrunner while also writing and directing for the series. The series lasted for nine seasons on the WB and CW network.
