"Pacific Rim: Uprising" is a 2018 American science fiction action film directed by Steven S. DeKnight and the sequel to 2013's "Pacific Rim". The plot follows Jake Pentecost, son of Stacker Pentecost, reuniting with Mako Mori to lead a new generation of Jaeger pilots, including rival Lambert and 15-year-old hacker Amara, against a new Kaiju threat.

Making / Production

The film was produced by Legendary Pictures and distributed by Universal Pictures. The production process was overseen by Thomas Tull, Mary Parent, Jon Jashni, and Guillermo del Toro. "Pacific Rim: Uprising" was shot in Australia and China, under the working title "Pacific Rim: Maelstrom".

Actors

• John Boyega as Jake Pentecost - Jake is a washed-up Jaeger pilot and Stacker Pentecost's son. Boyega delivers an edgy, yet commendable performance as a black-market dealer turned hero.
• Scott Eastwood as Nate Lambert - Eastwood plays a rugged and steadfast Jaeger pilot who co-pilots Gipsy Avenger alongside Jake. His chemistry with Boyega drives significant aspects of the film.
• Cailee Spaeny as Amara Namani - Amara is a defiant young Jaeger scavenger, who became pilot of Scrapper. Spaeny gives a refreshing performance, carving out her place among the veteran actors.
• Rinko Kikuchi as Mako Mori - Returning from the previous film, Kikuchi brilliantly portrays Mako, a former Jaeger pilot, who now serves as the Secretary General of the Pan Pacific Defense Corps.
