About Paper Towns (HBO)

"Paper Towns" is a 2015 American romantic mystery comedy-drama film directed by Jake Schreier. The movie is based on the 2008 novel of the same name by John Green. It follows Quentin "Q" Jacobsen (Nat Wolff) who has spent his whole life admiring Margo Roth Spiegelman (Cara Delevingne) from afar. Now, Margo needs him to help plot an elaborate revenge plan. Their one night of adventure ends with Margo disappearing, leaving behind cryptic clues for Quentin to decipher. Though it's a mystery, Quentin sets out on a cross-country trip with his friends to find her.

Making / Production

The film was produced by Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen, who also produced The Fault in Our Stars. The screenplay was written by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, the writing team behind The Fault in Our Stars and The Spectacular Now. Principal photography took place in North Carolina from November 3 to December 19, 2014.
