About

The Parkers is a popular American television sitcom that aired from 1999 to 2004. It is a spin-off of the UPN show, Moesha. The show follows the lives of mother and daughter duo, Nikki Parker (played by Mo'Nique) and Kim Parker (played by Countess Vaughn) as they navigate their way through college life.

Nikki, a young single mother, decides to go back to college to get her degree and encourages her daughter Kim to join her. The pair attend a fictitious historically black university, Santa Monica College. The show primarily focuses on the comedic situations that arise from their academics, dating, and relationships with friends and family.

The Parkers was produced by Saradipity Productions and Big Ticket Television. The show was created by Ralph Farquhar, who also served as the executive producer along with Sara V. Finney and Vida Spears. The sitcom was filmed in front of a live studio audience.
