About Plastic Memories
Plastic Memories is a popular anime series released in 2015. Set in a technologically advanced future, the series explores the complex relationships between humans and humanoid robots known as 'Giftias'. These Giftias, while superior to humans in almost every way, have a fixed lifespan after which they lose their memory and personality. The protagonist of the series, Tsukasa Mizugaki, works for a company called SAI Corp which is responsible for retrieving these Giftias before they expire. He partners with a Giftia named Isla, and the series chronicles their deeply affecting personal and professional journey.
Making / Production
The series was produced by Doga Kobo, a renowned Japanese animation studio. Naotaka Hayashi penned the original story and screenplay, while Yoshiyuki Fujiwara directed it. The series featured character designs by Chiaki Nakajima based on the original designs by okiura.
