Pokémon The Series: Indigo League is the first season of the Pokémon anime series, which premiered in 1997. It follows the adventures of Ash Ketchum, a young Pokémon Trainer from Pallet Town, as he begins his journey to become a Pokémon Master.

The plot revolves around Ash's quest to catch and train Pokémon, as well as compete in Pokémon battles to earn badges from Gym Leaders. Along the way, he forms a bond with his first Pokémon, Pikachu, and befriends other Trainers, such as Misty and Brock, who join him on his journey.

Making / Production

The Pokémon anime series is based on the popular Pokémon video games created by Satoshi Tajiri and Ken Sugimori. The Indigo League season was produced by OLM, Inc. and Shogakukan Production Co., Ltd., in collaboration with Nintendo and TV Tokyo. It was directed by Masamitsu Hidaka and written by Takeshi Shudo.

The production team worked closely with Game Freak, the developer of the Pokémon video games, to ensure that the TV series stayed true to the original source material. The animation studio, OLM, Inc., brought the colorful and vibrant world of Pokémon to life through their animation techniques.
