Prince Avalanche, released in 2013, is an American comedy-drama film written and directed by David Gordon Green. The movie is an adaptation of the Icelandic film Either Way. The plot revolves around two highway road workers, played by Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch, who spend the summer of 1988 away from their city lives. The isolated landscapes become a place of misadventure as the men find themselves at odds with each other and the women they left behind.

Making / Production

David Gordon Green directed and wrote Prince Avalanche. Filmed in 16 days around the site of the 2011 Bastrop County Complex Fire, this production was largely kept a secret until its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2013. The movie was shot on location, highlighting the devastation caused by the fire that had happened just a few months prior.
