Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is a fantasy adventure film released in 2010. It was directed by Mike Newell, based on the video game series of the same name by Jordan Mechner. The story is about a street urchin in Persia, who after showing courage, is adopted and named Prince Dastan. He teams up with the princess of Alamut, Tamina, to protect a mystical dagger that can control time, from wrong hands.

The film was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Films and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. Jordan Mechner, the creator of the video game series, worked on the screenplay along with Boaz Yakin, Doug Miro, and Carlo Bernard.

Actors

• Jake Gyllenhaal as Prince Dastan - An orphan who becomes prince due to his bravery. His role was appreciated for the balance between masculinity and vulnerability.
