About The Princess Bride

The Princess Bride is an enchanting fantasy adventure film directed by Rob Reiner. It's based on a 1973 novel of the same name written by William Goldman. The story is a classic tale of love and adventure as young woman must find her true love in a kingdom far far away. She chooses to be with the farm boy who works for her family and is sent off to seek fortune across the sea, while she, unknowingly, is chosen to become the bride of the Prince. Adventure follows with tales of pirates, giants, miracle men and true love.

Making / Production

Reiner wanted to bring this fairy tale to life so he spent the better part of five months with William Goldman fine-tuning the screenplay. The production was a complex endeavor with dazzling sets, gorgeous costumes, and intricate storyboards to help guide the filming process. Despite a few hiccups in the production, Reiner managed to create a timeless classic.
