The movie is an extension of the Disney Channel Original Series, The Proud Family. The story revolves around Penny Proud, who is typically embarrassed by her father, Oscar. When a mad scientist, Dr. Carver, beckons, the Proud Family embarks on an adventure that teaches them about the value of family and self-identity.
