About Read It and Weep

"Read It and Weep" is a 2006 Disney Channel Original Movie which tells the story of a young girl named Jamie who writes a journal about her school woes with characters based on real people. Things spiral out of control when her journal accidentally gets published as a novel, making her an overnight sensation. Suddenly, her fantasies about her alter-ego Isabella, who's seemingly perfect, start to collide with her everyday life.

Directed by Paul Hoen, "Read It and Weep" was produced by Don Schain and Sheri Singer for the Disney Channel. The story was based on the novel "How My Private, Personal Journal Became A Bestseller" by Julia DeVillers. The screenplay was written by Patrick J. Clifton and Beth Rigazio.
