About
Record of Ragnarok (2021) is an anime series based on the manga of the same name written by Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui. The show is set in a world where representatives of humanity and various gods from different mythologies meet in a grand tournament to decide the fate of humanity. The gods, disappointed with the current state of humanity, decide to initiate the Ragnarok, a battle where each side selects thirteen of their strongest warriors to fight in one-on-one matches. If the gods win, humanity will be wiped out, but if humanity wins even once, they will be spared.
The story follows Brunhilde, the leader of the Valkyries, who acts as the representative of humanity in the Ragnarok. She selects the greatest warriors from throughout human history, including historical figures like Adam, Jack the Ripper, and Nikola Tesla, among others. These warriors must now face off against deities from various mythologies, such as Thor, Zeus, and Poseidon, in epic battles to determine the survival of humanity.
