About

The Resistance Banker is a 2018 Dutch war film, directed by Joram Lürsen. The film is based on the true story of banker Walraven van Hall and his efforts to finance the Dutch resistance during World War II.

The story revolves around Walraven van Hall, a banker in Amsterdam, who is approached by a member of the Dutch resistance to help fund their activities. Van Hall, along with his brother Gijs, comes up with a plan to create a covert bank to raise funds for the resistance. Over the course of the war, they manage to provide millions of guilders to support the resistance fighters and their families.
