About RoboCop (HBO)
"RoboCop" is a 2014 American science fiction action film directed by José Padilha and written by Joshua Zetumer, Nick Schenk, Edward Neumeier, Michael Miner. A remake of the 1987 film of the same name, "RoboCop" is set in 2028 Detroit. OmniCorp, an international conglomerate, develops robotic technology for foreign military operations. They decide to introduce their controversial technology to the domestic law enforcement when officer Alex Murphy (played by Joel Kinnaman), a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime in Detroit, is critically injured in the line of duty. Alex is converted into the prototype cyborg police officer RoboCop.
Making / Production
The film was produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Columbia Pictures. It began filming in September 2012 in Toronto and the production wrapped up in July 2013.The director Jose Padilha wanted "RoboCop" to be a reimagining of the original rather than just a straightforward reboot. The film faced a budget of $100 million, making it one of the most expensive films ever made in the RoboCop franchise
Actors
- Joel Kinnaman as Alex Murphy / RoboCop. Joel effectively portrayed the transition from human to a cyborg, reflecting the internal struggle of the character.
