About Rocky Balboa
Rocky Balboa is the sixth installment in the Rocky film series, released in 2006. It was directed, written and starred by Sylvester Stallone in the titular role. The plot revolves around Rocky, a retired boxer, who after the death of his wife and a series of personal and professional disappointments, gets a chance to fight the reigning heavyweight champion, providing an account of struggle, belief, and dream fulfilment.
Making / Production
The production of the movie was greenlit in 2005 after Stallone's script received approval. Filming took place in Los Angeles and Philadelphia, with a primary focus to depict Rocky's life post his retirement and the path to his comeback. It was produced by Revolution Studios, distributed by MGM and Columbia Pictures.
