About Scary Movie (HBO)

"Scary Movie" is a 2000 American comedic horror film produced by Dimension Films as part of the "Scary Movie" franchise. The movie, which came to HBO later, parodies several popular horror and slasher movies such as "Scream," "I Know What You Did Last Summer," and "The Sixth Sense," providing an amusing twist to the usually frightening storylines.

The plot follows a group of teenagers who accidentally kill a man, then find themselves stalked by a vengeful killer who seems to be duplicating the plots of various horror movies. With its unusual combination of horror and wry humor, "Scary Movie" offers an unique viewing experience.

Making / Production

Directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans and written by his brothers Shawn and Marlon, Scary Movie was a huge hit at the box office. The movie was made with a budget of $19 million and ended up grossing over $278 million worldwide, making it a phenomenal success.
