About Scream 2 (HBO)
Scream 2 is a 1997 American horror film created as the second installment in the Scream franchise. Directed by Wes Craven and written by Kevin Williamson, the film takes place two years after the events of the first Scream, and again follows the character Sidney Prescott, now a student at the fictional Windsor College, who becomes the target of a copycat killer using the guise of Ghostface.
Making / Production
After the success of the first film, the production of Scream 2 was immediately set into motion by Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson. They decided to create a sequel that would comment not just on horror movies, but on the phenomenon of sequels themselves. The production phase was fast-track with filming taking place in various locations within California. The script was also kept under extreme secrecy due to the leaking of the original draft's plot on the internet.
