About Secretariat

Secretariat is a 2010 biographical sports film directed by Randall Wallace. The film's plot centers around the life of Secretariat, the 1973 Triple Crown-winning racehorse, and his owner, Penny Chenery. Penny takes over her ailing father’s stables and guides Secretariat to become one of the greatest racehorses in history.

Making / Production

The film was produced by Mark Ciardi and Gordon Gray, through Mayhem Pictures. The screenplay was written by Mike Rich, with Randall Wallace as the director. Filming took place in both Kentucky and Louisiana.
