About Sharp Objects (HBO)
Sharp Objects is an American psychological thriller television miniseries based on Gillian Flynn's 2006 novel of the same name, which aired on HBO from July 8 to August 26, 2018. The story revolves around reporter Camille Preaker who, fresh from a brief stay at a psychiatric hospital, must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. Struggling to put together a psychological puzzle from her past, she finds herself identifying with the young victims a bit too closely.
Making / Production
The show was created by Marti Noxon, directed by Jean-Marc Vallée with scripts by Flynn and Noxon. It began filming in summer 2017. The filming took place in several locations, mainly in Los Angeles, California and Barnesville, Georgia which served as a stand-in for the fictitious town of Wind Gap, Missouri.
