About Silver Surfer

The Silver Surfer series revolves around the adventures of the titular character who is a cosmic entity crafted by Jack Kirby. The Silver Surfer, originally known as Norrin Radd, hails from the planet Zenn-La, in a far-off universe. Pledged to serve the immensely powerful Galactus, who spared his planet in return, the Silver Surfer traverses through different galaxies to find new planets for his master to devour. However, as he travels, he slowly begins to question his master's destructive motives, which ultimately leads him on a journey of self-discovery and salvation for the universe.

Making / Production

Back in 1998, Marvel Entertainment worked in collaboration with the Saban Entertainment to create this epic animated series. There were a total of thirteen episodes focusing on science and existential themes. The series beautifully used hand-drawn animation techniques to portray the vivid cosmic universe. Despite its short run-time, the Silver Surfer series is remembered fondly for its distinct animation, thought-provoking storylines and character development.
