About The Simpsons
The Simpsons is an American animated sitcom created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series is a satirical depiction of American life, epitomized by the Simpson family, which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. The show is set in the fictional town of Springfield and parodies American culture, society, television, and the human condition.
Making / Production
The Simpsons was first broadcast on December 17, 1989. It was created by cartoonist Matt Groening in response to a request from James L. Brooks and the Fox Broadcasting Company for a television series based on Groening's Life in Hell comic strip. Groening decided to create a new set of characters, a family named the Simpsons, because he did not want to lose ownership of his existing characters.

- Dan Castellaneta: Played the role of Homer Simpson with a deep, throaty voice. His character is a lovable, but not-so-bright, family man.
- Julie Kavner: Voiced Marge Simpson, the family's matriarch who tries to maintain peace in the household.
- Nancy Cartwright: Brought to life the character of Bart Simpson, the mischievous eldest child.
