About Slash/Back

Slash/Back is an edge-of-your-seat and action-packed thriller film that was released in 2022. The unexpected story is set in Pangnirtung, Canada, a small town just 31 miles south of the Arctic Circle. Here, it's just a typical summer day with no school, a constant 24-hour sunlight, and only a handful of boys.

However, everything changes when Maika and her friends stumble across an alien invasion threatening their quiet village. These teenagers, though underestimated all their lives, rise to the challenge. Pulling from unexpected resources, like homemade weapons and horror movie trivia, they step up to defend their home and prove to the aliens that they picked a fight with the wrong group.

Making/ Production

The film was produced in Canada, perfectly capturing the unique surroundings of a small settlement nestled among Arctic hills and tundra. The team took care to authentically represent the local setting and culture, making every effort to employ local crew members and talent. The movie also boasts impressive special effects, especially given the constraints of its independently-financed budget

Actors

  • Actor 1: Played the determined and resourceful leader of the group, Maika. Their role was notable for conveying the strength and resilience of young women even in the most dire of circumstances.
  • Actor 2: Played Maika's best friend who provides much-needed comic relief, but also shows courage and determination when it truly matters.
