Sleepy Hollow is an American supernatural drama television series that aired on Fox from 2013 to 2017. The series is loosely based on the 1820 short story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving, with the added concept of time travel. The main storyline centers on Ichabod Crane, a soldier from the American Revolutionary War who is somehow transported to the present day Sleepy Hollow, and his efforts to halt the apocalyptic plans of the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, as foretold in the biblical Book of Revelation.

The Sleepy Hollow TV series was developed by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Phillip Iscove, and Len Wiseman. Their reimagination of Irving's original story has resulted in a show that has a unique blend of mystery, horror, and humor. Filming primarily took place in Wilmington, North Carolina, with the quaint, historic city standing in for the Sleepy Hollow, New York setting.
