The Force Awakens is the seventh episode in the Star Wars series, premiering in 2015. In this thrilling adventure, the existence of a map to Luke Skywalker's whereabouts becomes a central plot point. A defector stormtrooper, Finn, and a scavenger from the desert planet Jakku, Rey, become the map's protectors against The First Order, an organization aspiring to rule the galaxy.

Making / Production

Directed by J.J. Abrams, The Force Awakens was produced by Lucasfilm Ltd. and Abrams' Bad Robot Productions. Original Star Wars creator George Lucas served as a creative consultant. The movie was shot using a combination of 35mm film and IMAX, in locations such as Abu Dhabi, Iceland, and Ireland.
